Shape, Painting and Markings
アウトラインは良好です。塗装やマーキング類も素晴らしい出来栄え。しかしキャノピーを「開」状態で固定出来ないところは不満です。
The outline is good. The painting and markings are excellent. But I feel dissatisfaction the canopy is not able to fix in the open position.
Special Mention
通常、グレイ塗装の多いF-102ですが、そのいくつかはシルバーラッカー塗装仕上げのものもありました。この57FISのモデルもそのひとつです。本モデルには実機同様、美しいシルバー塗装が施されています。
Normally, most F-102s were painted in gray, but a few ones were painted by silver lacquer. This 57FIS’s is an one of those. This model is painted in a beautiful silver like a real plane.

57th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron
米空軍第57戦闘迎撃飛行隊は1941年1月に開設され、1942年5月に第57戦闘飛行隊となりました。 同隊はいったん1949年に解隊され、1953年3月にメイン州アルーストック郡プレスクアイルにて第57戦闘迎撃飛行隊「アルーストックの黒騎士団」として再結成されます。 1954年11月、同隊はアイスランドのケフラビクへ移動、ドイツ駐留の第526戦闘迎撃飛行隊「黒騎士団」との混同を避けるため、「ケフラビクの黒騎士団」と部隊名を変更します。 1962年末、使用機材はF-89DからF-102デルタダガーへと更新されます。

The 57th Pursuit Squadron was activated in January 1941 and became 57th FS in May 1942. In 1949 it was inactivated only to be reactivated at Presque Isle, Aroostook County, Maine in March 1953 as the 57th FIS the “Black Knights of Aroostook”. In November 1954 the 57th moved to Keflavik, Iceland where they became the “Black Knights of Keflavik” to avoid confusion with the 526th FIS “Black Knights” based in Germany. In late 1962 the 57th FIS traded their F-89Ds for the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger.

同飛行隊でのF-102の主なミッションはソ連の未確認機を迎撃することでした。 1972年9月15日には、迎撃ミッション数が1000ソーティとなります。 1973年、第57戦闘迎撃飛行隊は使用機材をF-4Cへ更新し、さらに1978年には同機をF-4Eへと更新します。 同飛行隊は、1995年3月1日に解隊され、その長い歴史に終止符を打つことになります。

The squadron flew the F-102 mostly on intercept missions against unannounced Russian aircraft. On September 15, 1972 the squadron intercepted a Russian Bear and recorded its 1000th intercept. In 1973 the 57th FIS re-equipped with F-4Cs and in the summer of 1978 converted to F-4Es. The 57th FIS was inactivated on March 1, 1995.
